Grade 3 Highlights

Welcome to the Third Grade at Christ the Teacher Catholic School.  This year, our students’ faith is developed through a spiral curriculum based on the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  The four pillars are:  What Catholics Believe, How Catholics Worship, How Catholics Live, and How Catholics Pray.   As young members of our Church at the third grade level, students will gain knowledge of their Catholic Tradition and common language of faith.  They will be able to participate fully in Catholic worship, joining their parish in Liturgical prayer, song, and action.  They will be challenged to respond to the Gospel message of Christian love, peace, and social justice in age-appropriate ways.  And, they will engage in a wide variety of prayer experiences through music, art, and action.

This year our academic lives in third grade transfer from learning to read to “reading to learn.”  The emphasis on study skills is a big part of third grade.

At CTTCS, our students and teachers have the unique opportunity, everyday, to incorporate the teachings of Jesus in all we do.  We invite you to visit our individual classroom pages by clicking the links above to learn more about the academic curriculum and the many things we accomplish here in the third grade.
