Introduction to Grade 8

Welcome to 8th Grade!  This year, students are working toward their goal of acceptance into their high school of choice.  Although still within our doors, we  prepare them and ask the guidance of God in opening the new door of changes and experiences in eighth grade and high school.  This also very much incorporates the decisions in faith make on an everyday basis while at CTTCS and circumstances they may come across in their future.

Volunteering and service isn’t just a “high school obligation” in their future.  We encourage our 8th grade students to be active volunteers in the school and local community on a regular basis and to share those experiences with others.

In the spring, the 8th grade students will experience the end of the year retreat.  This is a time for the class to come together and reflect on their past experiences at CTT, which soon will be closed, and look forward to opening a new chapter in their chosen high school.  Also in May, 8th graders lead a school-wide liturgy that includes the crowning of Mary, Our Mother.

Closing Exercises in June are held at one of our sponsoring parishes.  Students enter through the church door as CTTCS students and exit as graduates of our school.  The prayer service and awards recognize many of their accomplishments: academically, spiritually, and socially.

Please visit our classroom pages to learn about our individual curriculum areas we teach.  Thank you for visiting CTTCS eighth grade!

Post-Graduation

We are grateful for your choice of a Catholic elementary school education for your children.   We believe that they are academically well-prepared for high school and beyond.  In addition, we hope that having provided a faith based education in their early years will afford them spiritual foundation that will last a lifetime.

We encourage you to consider a Diocese of Wilmington or private Catholic high school for continuing their education.  Information can be obtained by going to the high schools’ websites.
